About
Willow is a lover of all things quirky and a packrat of hidden treasures. The work she makes usually begins as an odd end found out in the world, be it inspiration or materials. She likes nothing better than to spend a day outside working with her hands. For her, fairies never stopped living in our gardens.
Her creative practice ranges from fine art photography and illustration to the production of small scale sets and props for stop motion and theater. She often explores tactile and cinematic themes and uses lighting and exaggeration to invoke the surreal and whimsical feeling of childhood. Her goal is to always tell a story with everything she makes and to build worlds into which people can immerse themselves and explore.
She is inspired by science-fiction and fantasy films and by the numerous picture books her mom read to her as a child. If there is one lesson she would want to come through in all of her art it would be to find joy in and to protect the world around us.
